Frequently asked questions.

Yes, we do hire out the church hall. There are several community groups and organisations who use our building throughout the week. Hall hire starts at £15/hr.
Get in touch via the contact form to enquire.
Is there car parking available?
Yes, there is a small carpark behind the church building. Turn in through the black gates beside the bus stop, in front of the Dibble Tree Theatre. This is a tight turn so go slow to avoid the gates & corner of the building - larger vehicles may find it easier to park at nearby street parking.
It’s my first time in church, what should I wear?
It honestly does not matter what you wear. Be yourself and wear whatever you are comfortable in. We are a friendly and relaxed church family from all walks of life.
What are your services like? What should I expect?
Sunday morning services start at 11am and includes; singing songs - a mix of modern praise / well known hymns, a bible reading, prayer and a sermon explaining the bible passage that has been read. The service will last around 90 mins in total. Do not worry if you are not familiar with the songs, you’ll pick them up. Our small praise band lead from the front and the words will be projected on the screen. There are bibles at the back of the church to use if you don’t own one or have forgotten yours. Prayers are led by the pastor and church members from the front and you won’t be asked to pray out loud in front of anyone. There is an offering taken during the service where a money bag is passed around the congregation. This is for church members to give to the work of the church, there is no expectation for visitors to have to contribute, please just pass the bag on. The sermon usually lasts between 20-30mins. We work through books of the bible systemically so we can understand the context of the readings, you can catch up with previous teaching from the sermon series on Podbean.
I’m not a member of the church can I take Communion?
Every second Sunday we share in communion as part of the service. If you know Jesus personally as your Saviour you are welcome to join us in communion. If you are not sure, please do not feel embarrassed about passing the bread and cups onto the next person.
What if my children are noisy during the service?
Please do not worry about noise, we love children to feel at home in our church. We have a Sunday School that meets during the service most weeks which they would be welcome to attend. Your kids will have fun doing age appropriate activities supervised by our lovely sunday school leaders. There is an all age service once a month where the children stay in for the whole service with colouring and activity sheets provided. We also have creche facilities available if required for little ones.
Is the church building wheelchair accessible?
Yes it is. We also have a disabled toilet and a loop system for people with hearing aids.
Have church leaders and volunteers undergone a PVG check?
We take safeguarding seriously. Everyone involved in the work of the church that comes into contact with vulnerable adults or children are required to undergo a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland. We have a Safeguarding policy and hold safeguarding training for members of the congregation involved in church activities where this may be required.
